Though not my favourite Bond, his was undeniably one of the names most people associated with the role. He was certainly the one who spent the longest in the tux, playing the super-spy from 1973 to 1985.
He was knighted for his charity work, particularly for UNICEF.
Moore said that the citation "meant far more to me than if I had got it for acting... I was proud because I received it on behalf of UNICEF as a whole and for all it has achieved over the years".
